In this workshop, instructors will be presented with a number of different resources to help them be effective teachers in their shop and the automotive field.

This workshop will go over different Lesson Plans, Lab Sheets, PowerPoints, OEM Training and many more resources as well as how to use them in their own classrooms/shops.

You will also go over different ways of delivering the content based on the instructors shop/classroom, class size, student abilities and tools/equipment/vehicle resources available.

 

Teachers will come away with the following:

  • How to develop effective lab sheets
  • How to best utilize the lab sheets into their own classes
  • How to build Units/Lesson Plans based on their own space and tools/equipment
  • Common issues automotive instructors run into and how to tackle them
  • Alternative methods to deliver content to maximize lab time
  • Industry partners that can be partnered with to receive OEM training and resources (E-Learning, Certifications, OEM access to service information)

Ray Casey

Ray Casey has been teaching automotive technology for 10 years at both Secondary and Post Secondary levels. He is currently ASE Master Technician (A1-A8) and ASE Advanced Level Specialist (L1). Additionally, Ray is active in the Type 65 Project Build at JCCC.
