We are so excited about the opportunity to host KCCTE trainings at KACTE! These are FREE to any registered KACTE Conference attendee.
| Perkins/Pathways Data | Learn about CTE data collection and data entry to comply with Perkins legislation. Topics covered will include Perkins data requirements, KIDS KCAN reporting, Student Data Management (Assign students to pathways and update participant/concentrator status), and Student Follow-Up data. Participants should bring laptop/device with access to Pathways. |
| CTE Coordinators Connect and Collaborate through Peer Link Pro | Join us for the chance to see how PeerLink Pro, a FREE online service, can help you have online discussions with other CTE coordinators and administrators. This is an opportunity to see how you can strengthen your professional network and enhance your productivity. Participants will need to bring laptop/device with wiFi capability. |
| Inquiry Based Learning – Finding Engagement in your Content | Are your students asking and pursuing questions to drive their own learning? This workshop will introduce teachers to an effective framework to implement Inquiry Based Learning into YOUR classroom. We will kick this session off with an Inquiry Activity followed by a planning session that focuses on your topic. To help, we will be modeling our own classroom topic to help with the process. Please bring an idea for a classroom lesson/unit as we will begin designing your Inquiry in this session. |
| Geometry in Construction Classroom Activities–How it works | This session will demonstrate how the Geometry in Construction class works on a daily basis. It will include hands-on projects for all participants as are done in the classroom. Surveying & Congruent triangles, slope in stairs/ramps and handrails, constructing congruent triangles, balsa scale model, rafter layout, nailing an inch. Participants will need to bring safety glasses. |
| Starting Your Own School Store | Learn how to start up an in-house apparel business; covering financials, organization/jobs, companies used, designing, pressing, customer satisfaction and more. Try your hand at pressing transfers during this session! |
| The Power of the Teaching Stethoscope | Led by two experienced nurse educators, explore creative methods for utilizing a teaching stethoscope in this interactive workshop. Learn and practice skill and empathy-building exercises for your health science classroom. All participants will receive a sample grant proposal for the purchase of future teaching stethoscopes. There will be a drawing for the practice stethoscopes to take home and use in your classroom. |
