These three independent workshops are designed for agricultural instructors nation-wide who teach K-14 and are preparing students for careers in the agricultural industry. With support from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), there will be no registration fee for this workshop, and an $800 stipend will be paid to the individual/institution paying for the travel. This stipend will be paid AFTER the participant has completed the full 4-day session. Space is limited, and placement is competitive! These are beneficial when teaching students the fundamental principles of fixed and variable inline axial piston pumps and motors. When used to teach pumps, the shaft can be spun, the swash plate can be varied, and the students can physically see the pistons reciprocate in and out of their bore. When it is used to teach motors, the piston is pressed into its bore (with a pen type screwdriver), and the output shaft will rotate.

NEEDED SUPPLIES: Safety Glasses, Proper Attire (long pants, slacks or jeans) and optional (laptop, camera, notepad and pencil/pen).

*If your scholarship application is approved, the scholarship will pay the $1800 registration fee for the 4-day session and will also include an $800 stipend to offset travel expenses. The $800 stipend will be paid to the individual/institution paying for the travel. This stipend will be paid AFTER the participant has completed the full 4-day session. The scholarship WILL NOT cover a $100 non-refundable seat fee.

Note: IRS regulations mandate that Form 1099-NEC be used to report miscellaneous income for individuals and companies who have been paid $600 or more in non-employee service payments during a calendar year.

Chauncey Pennington
Chauncey Pennington brings 20+ years of experience in the Automotive and Heavy Diesel engine and equipment field. He has taught in the areas of Harley Davidson motorcycles, John Deere Agriculture Equipment and automotive classes at the post-secondary level. Degrees are BST in Automotive Technology with Emphasis in Diesel/Heavy Equipment and MST in Technology Education with an Emphasis in College Education.
