The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) competencies for Sports Medicine courses have recently been updated, and this session will help teachers align their instruction with the new standards.

This workshop will emphasize hands-on practice and instructional strategies for:

  • Teaching prophylactic taping and allowing students time to practice
  • Teaching upper and lower extremity special tests
  • Providing ample hands-on time to practice assessment and taping techniques

We’ll also cover updates to the Sports Medicine II standards and how to incorporate them into your classroom and lab activities.

Whether or not you attended the first Sports Medicine workshop, this session will stand on its own — but returning participants will appreciate the deeper focus on taping, ankle, and elbow assessment techniques.
