**REGISTRATION OPEN TO 10**

**Attendees will build and take home a push cart and a rocket stove (see pic below) that can be used as an example for a class project.

Also, in this week-long hands-on welding workshop, attendees will learn strategies for teaching students the following;

  • Personal Protective Equipment or PPE
  • Safety in the shop
  • Safety pertaining to the equipment (being used during event)
  • How to read a tape measure activity
  • Basic print reading and welding symbols
  • How to use a grinder
  • Basic GMAW process (set up and use)
  • How to use a chop saw
  • Oxyfuel Gas Cutting Process (set up, proper use, and shut down)
  • Plasma cutting process (set up, proper use and shut down)

**This is the cart you will be making and taking home from the workshop.  It will be 36” L x 24” W x 36” T and the Rocket Stove is roughly 24 T x 18 W..

Jason Sampson

has been the welding instructor at Southern Tech in Oklahoma for 7 years. He holds 3G GMAW, 6G SMAW, and 1F GTAW certifications and has a Bachelor’s in Technical Education from Pittsburg State University.  He spent 25 years in industry before deciding to start teaching.
